  • This in-depth, 24-week study of the Old and New Testaments looks at the Bible through the theme of “covenant.” Together, participants learn from our biblical ancestors how to create, live, and trust the covenant that God makes with us. The study underscores the unique relationship that God chooses to have with us as God’s people – a relationship grounded in the faithfulness of God’s love and on our ongoing commitment to stay in love with God while we share signs of that love with others.

  • In keeping with our commitment to being an anti-racist church, CHUMC’s Racial Justice Task Force has now grown into the CHUMC Racial Justice Ministry Band. The Task Force had begun to examine every aspect of our church to help us resist and deconstruct any and all forms of racism. NOW – the Racial Justice Ministry Band is helping CHUMC center anti-racism in all it’s dealings and to create, cultivate and maintain that culture. To fulfill our longstanding commitment to be “the heart of God in the community,” we hope to ultimately work to achieve the same anti-racist goal in our Capitol Hill community.

  • At various times throughout the year, we have short-term studies. Sometimes these coincide with the Christian year (i.e. Advent or Lenten Studies), and sometimes they may support a sermon series. At times, these studies have been to help us make decisions as a church and other times they are something we find interesting like our book club, Reading and Resistance! We even do short-term classes via Zoom Video Conferencing so you can join us virtually in the comfort of your own home (or anywhere you have an internet connection). Days and times vary as do leaders, but take a look below for upcoming and past studies that will give you insight into studies we share.

  • As an active church in a diverse community, CHUMC has many young adults who worship here regularly and are active in all of our ministries. The TNT Group is not about age, so whether or not you are actually in your 20s-30s, come join CHUMC’s fun and active TNT group. CHUMC’s TNT-ers meet regularly for fun events to help us grow in the church. Check the bulletin and web for specifics.

The vision for this important ministry is to provide a relaxed space for newcomers to join in and make connections, while encouraging all TNT-ers to get involved in weekly Bible Studies, fellowship groups, and other CHUMC gatherings and events that are already happening, or to form their own small group.

    All Are Welcome!

    Contact: Kelly DeLoach - kelly.deloach@gmail.com
